Description

Custom Sensor Package Sensor package suited and compatible with all standalone ECUs Save when you bundle sensors together! You're installing your ECU - but not sure what sensors you have or need? We are taking the guess and leg work out of the process and have put together our suggestions and a "build-your-own" sensor pack. Use the guide below to help with your selection process on the necessary, suggested and optional sensors. If you aren't sure, contact us so we can build you a custom ECU and sensor package the fits your needs and budget. REQUIRED Sensors: Map Sensor Either use the ECU On-board map (if so equipped) or add a MAP sensor with adequate range for your application. External MAPs in the engine bay simplify routing and result in shorter lines with less delay or lag in sensor response Pressure Range: Note that MAP sensors are in absolute pressure - i.e. a 1 bar map sensor is only suitable for up to atmospheric pressure (naturally aspirated engines). A 2 bar map sensor is suitable for up to 1 bar (14.5 psi) of boost. Too large or a range causes lack of resolution and accuracy. We offer multiple options from our in house designed and built MicoMap sensors to motorsports options from ECU Manufacturer's and thread in style map sensors. Intake Air Temperature (IAT/MAT) Required for virtually all standalone ECUs and a major part of the fuel model for speed density systems. These are typically an open cage/element sensor for fast response and are NOT suitable for use submerged in fluid MAF systems typically incorporate the IAT sensor into the MAF. Removing the MAF will require adding an external IAT sensor. The IAT sensor should be after the intercooler or on the pressure side of any forced induction system (monitoring the temp of the air the engine is actually consuming) Multiple thread options and connections are available to suit your harness and install needs Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT/CLT) Required for standalone systems - used for cold start, warm up…
